The Healthy Belvedere Community Garden Club (HBCG) is located at Peace Lutheran Church on the east side of the Belvedere community. Currently there are 34-plots with the potential to expand to 50 garden plots (based on membership participation). The Healthy Belvedere Community Garden Club is an annual membership program that is open to all who live, work, worship or play in the Belvedere Park community. In addition to the members, the HBSC has a team of four committed Community Garden Club Officers that consists of a Lead, Co-Lead, Membership Coordinator and Resource Development Coordinator. These officer positions are elected annually. Club Officers offer guidance in the overall setup and management of garden activities. The Garden Manager, Veronica Watson, provides the technical assistance needed to maintain a viable and sustainable garden.

Community Garden Club Membership

Memberships to the Healthy Belvedere Community Garden Club are issued annually and are good only for the calendar year in which it is purchased. This year there will be twenty-five (25) memberships allocated for Belvedere Park residents and fifteen (15) memberships allocated to nonresidents and Belvedere community stakeholders (business, organizations, schools, etc.). Memberships will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. All members must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.

A Membership consists of a 4 x 8 foot plot for each member and garden education for a year. The cost per plot is $20.00. Resident plot purchases are limited to no more than one (1) plot per household. Members from the previous season will have first preference on renewing annual plot reservations, and may choose either the same plot or a vacant plot if one exists. During March and April returning gardeners may sign up for their garden plot rentals. Remaining plots will be available to new gardeners beginning March 26, 2011.

Members are required to participate in monthly garden work days (Saturdays, time TBA) and attend monthly Community Garden Club Meetings on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm at Peace Lutheran Church.
